The 1st graders got to plant some seeds in the garden today.  After harvesting some basil and parsley, students took turns planting watermelon, squash, and cucumber seeds.

“We made holes with our fingers and put the seeds in.  We were the Watermelon Girls!”  -Aniya

“We covered up the seeds.  And then pat it down. And then Mr. Rick taught us how to water it.  We put the water and spray it everywhere until it soaked the ground so that canteloupe and watermelon will grow. We’ll get to see leaves growing and then a canteloupe.” – Saniya

“We are gardeners!” -Xois
